The fisrts story is about connecting the dots
I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.
Son sólo tres historias, nada más. La primera trata sobre conectar los puntos. Luego de seis meses de universidad Steve no tenía idea de que hacer con su vida y no sabía como la universidad lo podía ayudar a descubrir su camino. Mientras, dormía en el suelo de alguna habitación de algún amigo, reciclaba botellas de coca cola para conseguir dinero y poder comer o cenaba gratis en un templo Hare Krishna.
If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, its likely that no personal computer would have them.
En su paso por Standford, Steve se intereso por aprender sobre tipografías. Allí descubrió el mundo Serif, combinaciones, espacios y tipos. Gracias a este conocimiento la Mac fue la primera computadora con tipografías. Claro que en ese momento Steve no tenía idea como emplearía esos conocimientos, pero los puntos solo se unen mirando hacia atrás.
En el momento parecen no tener relación uno con el otro, pero hay que tener esperanza que algún momento los puntos se unirán.
Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
My second story is about love and loss
La segunda historia es sobre amor y perdida
I was lucky — I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees.
We had just released our finest creation — the Macintosh — a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started?
Jobs dice que fue afortunado en encontrar aquello que lo apasiona a corta edad.
Junto a un amigo fundo Apple en el garege de sus padres. Luego de 10 años de trabajo duro, Apple creció y se convirtio en una empresa de 4000 empleados.
A los 30 años de edad Steve Jobs fue despedido de Apple. Según él ser despedido de Apple, fue lo mejor que le pudo pasar en la vida. Luego fundo otras dos empresas, NeXt y Pixar.
Next fue comprada por Apple y Pixar anticipó un antes y un después en animación.
Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love.

La tercera historia es sobre muerte
Tu tiempo es limitado, no lo pierdas viviendo la vida de otros. No te dejes atrapar por el dogma - que es vivir con el resultado de lo que otros piensan.
No permitas que el ruido de los pensamientos ajenos ahoguen a tu voz interior. Tu corazón y tu intuición ya saben en lo que realmente quieres convertirte, todo lo demás es secundario.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
